GUBI's Bestlite BL3 Floor Lamp was designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley Best, a British designer who was strongly influenced by Bauhaus. Its clean lines and elegant expression are combined with great functionality in the form of the adjustable arm, both horizontal and vertical, and the movable shade. Bestlite BL3 Floor Lamp works as a reading lamp in any modern home where there is a need for distinctive lighting.

The Bestlite lamp's design was first adopted by workshops and the Royal Air Force's technical departments due to its great functionality. An article in Architects Journal, which praised Bestlite as the first evidence of Bauhaus in Britain, brought the lamp to the attention of design-conscious people. Public demand for Bestlite lamps quickly followed, and when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his desk, Bestlite's iconic status was secured. The Bestlite design remains close to its industrial roots and true to the original design. Bestlite is part of the permanent collections at both the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. Throughout its long history, Bestlite has been loved by architects, designers, and design enthusiasts, and today it has become a modern classic.
