Eberhart is a Danish design brand founded in 2014 by two cousins, Rune Vigil Nielsen and Esben Christoffersen. Eberhart is based on a shared respect for craftsmanship and the integrity of materials, creating furniture that is characterized by clarity, balance, and lasting relevance. The brand is deeply rooted in traditional values within carpentry.

Danish design with roots in craftsmanship

At the core of Eberhart's design philosophy is an honest approach to materials. Solid wood, natural stone, and carefully selected surfaces are chosen for their durability and ability to age beautifully over time. Rather than hiding traces of production, Eberhart allows the natural character of the materials to remain visible and celebrates variation as a sign of authenticity and craftsmanship.

This philosophy is clearly evident in collections such as the Hector series, which includes the Hector dining table and Hector sideboard, where strong proportions and refined details highlight the natural qualities of oak and stone. Each piece of furniture is carefully constructed to create a balance between structure, surface, and function.

Rooted in vision and craftsmanship

From the very beginning, Eberhart was about more than just furniture. It was about creating a lifestyle where work, family, and creativity could exist in balance. The first pieces of furniture were produced in small, modest premises, a basement workshop in Copenhagen and an old warehouse on Esben's family farm in southern Funen. 

As demand grew, so did ambitions. But instead of moving production away, Eberhart chose to delve deeper into its roots. The family-owned farm, which has been passed down through seven generations, was transformed from traditional agriculture into a small furniture factory. Today, this is where all Eberhart furniture is designed, manufactured, and carefully packaged, surrounded by the tranquil landscape of southern Funen.

There is a quiet sense of circularity in this transformation, old buildings being given new life, heritage being carried on rather than replaced, reflecting the values Eberhart stands for.
