GUBI C-Chair Dining Chair, Black Oak

GUBI's C-Chair Dining Chair is one of Marcel Gascoin's most well-known pieces of furniture and was designed in 1947. The chair represents not only the aesthetic and practical strength of Gascoin's designs but also the social awareness he demonstrated in post-war France. The C-Chair was originally created out of a necessity to fit into the new sizes of homes built after World War II, where Gascoin compensated for the lack of space by creating simple, functional furniture. The C-Chair is cleverly designed with great attention to detail and features an elegant form, yet at the same time a robust construction rooted in a simple, minimalist, and strong design language.
