The metal table PAIR is designed by David Thulstrup for Møbel Copenhagen. It can be combined with Møbel Copenhagen's ceramic side table, breaking with the traditional idea of a standalone piece of lounge furniture, hence the name. The combination creates a strong contrast of solid materials, colors, and surfaces. The side tables can stand alone or be put together as a pair.
The two tables are made of ceramic and metal respectively, two different and honest materials that surprisingly work well together. The soft and glossy ceramic creates an interesting contrast to the cold, matte metal. The cavity of one table attracts the flat surface of the other, as if they were interdependent objects created to belong together. The low table can be placed next to the higher table, providing an extra surface, or used to create storage space between them.
