The Stingray rocking chair was designed by Thomas Pedersen for Fredericia Furniture. Thomas graduated as an architect from the Aarhus School of Architecture in 2002.

Stingray was a design that he had worked on for a long time during his education, but when he was about to take his final exam, he encountered a problem; the School of Architecture was equipped with a well-stocked woodworking workshop, but had nowhere to work with steel and fiberglass. So, together with another student, he made his project in the school's parking lot, and his persistence is still being rewarded to this day.

Stingray is a modern piece of furniture that is dynamic in its expression, but built for relaxation, as the rocking chair offers many different seating positions. The design of the rocking chair is inspired by the stingray of the sea. The shell therefore resembles the shape of a large stingray, which contributes to a beautiful, organic form. The frame is in steel and constructed without transverse lines, giving the chair a floating appearance.
