FDB Møbler - examples of B-grade
Scandinavian design is simplicity, attention to detail and quality materials.
At FDB, wood is one of the materials that is worked with extensively, and they believe that color nuances in wood are some of the most beautiful features. This means, among other things, that they very much want to highlight all the wood's natural colors and surfaces on their products. However, when working with wood, there will always be variations, as it is a living material. FDB has very strict quality control, and everything must be absolutely perfect. Furthermore, for FDB, it is also incredibly important that each product has the same uniform look and quality on all surfaces. This requires each individual piece of wood or material to be carefully selected for each individual piece of furniture. Occasionally, something passes through quality control with marginal deviations in wood color, the size of knots in the wood (which must not exceed Ø3mm), a crooked brand mark, or other minor details. This creates products that, despite their beautiful and unique appearance, cannot be sold as first quality, even though nothing is wrong with them - but luckily for you, can be sold as second quality.
When you buy a B-grade FDB piece of furniture from KEEPR, you may therefore receive a unique product that may have one or more of the following characteristics:
Damaged packaging
Incorrect packaging
Color nuances in the wood that cannot be approved as first quality, but which the untrained eye may not notice.
Knots over Ø3mm, or more than 3 knots per piece of wood
Grains in a piece of wood that deviate slightly in color
For painted products, peeling, scratches, etc. may occur.
The products are fully functional and by buying B-grade, you are helping to reduce waste and extend the lifespan of these beautiful products, hopefully for generations to come.
