At Sofie's; A Nørrebro home with secondhand finds & room for play

Sofie, together with her boyfriend and their 2-year-old son, has created a cozy home that makes room for play while not having too many things. Because thought is put into the items that are there.

"It should be cozy and there should be room to play"
In the homey apartment, there is a fine combination of the functional and the personal. For Sofie, it is important that it is cozy. This is seen in the form of small old vases on the shelf, animal motifs on the wall, and the many green plants decorating the windowsills. A fine combination of nature, things with history, and personality.

“When I need something, I have started searching for something that has been used before,
instead of buying it new”
For Sofie, it’s about finding something that is second-hand while also being long-lasting. It might take a bit more time, but if she can find something that is second-hand and attractive at the same time, she thinks it’s worth the effort.

Sofie and her boyfriend bought used chairs from Wehlers, which stand around the dining table. “It took us a long time to find the chairs because there were many needs that had to be met”, Sofie says with a smile. She says they were looking for chairs that had a simple expression and were functional and durable at the same time, so they wouldn’t be afraid to use them in everyday life. In addition, the family had a great desire to buy chairs for the home that would be more climate-friendly than others.
After searching for a long time for the right chairs, Sofie and her family chose to go with the R.U.M. chairs from Wehlers. R.U.M. stands for Re-Used Materials. The chairs are made from recycled materials. Sofie chose the chairs made from old beer kegs from Carlsberg, which she bought used on KEEPR.
Sofie and the small family are a fine example of how you can decorate your home with finds and design in a cozy, functional, and more sustainable way.
